Drawn to the Heavenly Father

John 6:65 “And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no man can come to Me except it were given to him of My Father.”

Man's natural response to God is to hide from Him as illustrated in Genesis 3:8 “And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.” And in Psalms 14:1-3, it states, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

Jesus learned to “hear and see” what the Father was doing in the lives of people as illustrated by the following examples in Scripture:

Matthew 16:17 “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father which is in heaven.”

Luke 19:1-10 “...And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make hast, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. And he made hast, and came down, and received him joyfully...”

John 1:35-40 “...And two disciples heard Him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto Him, Rabbi (Master), where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where He dwelt, and abode with him that day...One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him,was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother...”

I Peter 3:15-16 “But sanctify (hagiazo to make holy; make Jesus Lord) the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation (conduct) in Christ.”
