MEMORIAL

“Call to remembrance the former days.” (Hebrews 10:32)

Introduction

Do you have trouble remember things?  If you do, look at the bright side: 1) You never have to watch re-runs on television 2) Your are always meeting new people 3) You can hide your own Easter eggs!

Have you heard the story of the elderly woman who was getting into the bathtub and she forget whether she was getting in or out?  So she called to her husband, “Paw, was I getting into the tub or out of it?  Paw said, “Just a minute and I’ll come up stairs and see.”  As he began to climb the stairs, he suddenly stopped and said, “Was I going up the stairs or down?”  So he called to his elderly sister who lived with them and asked her to call for help.  As she dialed the phone and then said, “Did I just call someone or did they call me?”

An elderly couple had eaten at a restaurant and the wife left her glasses on the table.  They drove several miles down the road before she remembered her glasses.  She insisted that her husband turn around a go back and get them.  He fussed and complained all the way back.  But as she got out of the car to go into the restaurant, he hollered out, “Maw, while you’re in there, you may as well get my hat too!”
