took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking
up to heaven, he
blessed, and brake,
and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the
multitude.”
-
Matthew
14:23-25 “And when he
had sent the multitudes (5,000 men beside women and children)
away, he went up into a
mountain apart to pray:
and when the evening was come, he was there alone. And in the
fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the
sea.”
-
Matthew
23:37-39 “O
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and
stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have
gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her
chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house
is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see
me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in
the name of the Lord.”
-
Matthew
26:26-27 “And as they
were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it,

-
Matthew
26:36-44 “Then cometh
Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto
the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray
yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee,
and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto
them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye
here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and
fell on his face, and prayed,
saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from
me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt...Watch
and pray, that ye enter
not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh
is week. He went away again the second time, and
prayed, saying, O my
Father, If this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink
it, thy will be done...And he left them, and went away again,
and prayed the third time,
saying the same words.”
-
Matthew
26:52-54 “Then said
Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all
they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest
thou that I cannot now pray to my Father,
and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of
angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that
thus it must be?”
-
Mark 6:41

children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples
rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was
much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children
to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom
of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the
kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon
them, and blessed them.”
-
Mark 13:34-35
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets,
and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have

me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that
cometh in the name of the Lord.”

Jesus took bread, and blessed,

thanks, he gave it to
them: and they all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is
my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. Verily I
say unto you, I will drink not more of the fruit of the vine,

Olives.”

to be very heavy; And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding
sorrowful unto death: tarry he here, and watch. And he
went forward a little, and fell on the
ground, and prayed
that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he
said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away
this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou
wilt. And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto
Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? Couldest not thou watch one hour?
Watch and pray,
lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but
the flesh is weak. And again he
want away, and prayed,
and spake the same words. And when he returned, he found them
asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they
what to answer him. And he cometh the third time, and saith unto

they were filled with madness: and communed one with another
what they might do to Jesus. And it came to pass in those days,
that he went out into a mountain to pray,
and continued all night in prayer
to God. And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples:
and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;”

cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And
there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his
sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the
ground. And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to
his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, and said unto
them, Why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into
temptation.”

with you, and shall be in you.”

that I will pray
the Father for you:
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved
me, and have believed that I came out from God.”
-
John 17:8-10
“For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me;
and they have received them, and have known surely that I came
out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for
they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and
I am glorified in them.”

believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest
I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I
in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one;
and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast
loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they
also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they
may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst
me before the foundation of the world. And I have declared unto
them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou
hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
