SUBMISSIVE SPIRIT

1.     Mark 10:42-45 “But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.”

“But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:”

”And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.”

“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

2.     I Peter 3:1-7 “Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;”

“While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.”

“Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and the wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;”

“But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

“For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:”

“Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.  Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”

3.     Ephesians 5:21-25, 28, 31-33 “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”

“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”

“For the husband is the head of the wire, even as Christ is the head of the church and he is the savior of the body.”

“Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.”

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it:”

“So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.  He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”

“This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”

“Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”

4.     Colossians 3:18-19 “Wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.”

“Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”

5.     Philippians 2:3-8  “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”

“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.”

“Let t his mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:”

“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
