WORSHIP & INTERCESSORY WARFARE

 

OLD TESTAMENT:

1.   Deuteronomy 32:30 “How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up?”

 

2.   Joshua 6:1-27 “And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the Lord hath given you the city.  So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.”

 

3.   Judges 5:2-4Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.  Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.  Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, and the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.  The mountains melted from before the Lord, even the Sinai from before the Lord God of Israel.”

 

4.   I Samuel 17:45-47 “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou has defied.  This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite th head from thee…And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands.”

 

5.  II Samuel 22:30 “For by thee I have run through a troop; by my God have I leaped over a wall.”

 

6.  I Chronicles 15:26-28 “And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.  And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song witht the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.  Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with ymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.”

 

7.  II Chronicles 20:20-22 “And they rose early in the morning, and went    forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, King   Jehosaphat stood and said, Her me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of     Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established;     believer his prophets, so shall ye prosper.  And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the  beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and say, Praise the    Lord; for His mercy endureth for ever.  And when they began to sing and   to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mouht Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.”

 

8.   Psalm 20:7-9 “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.  Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.”

 

9.   Psalm 22:11-13 “For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.  Therefore shall thou make them turn their back, when thou shall make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of the them.  Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise they power.”

 

10. Psalm 68:25 “The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.”

 

11. Psalm 56:9 “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the natiions.”

 

12.  Psalm 100:2 “Come before His presence with singing.”

 

13.  Ecclesiastes 4:12 “If one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threfold cord is not quickly broken.”

 

14.  Isaiah 53:12 “He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was  numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”

 

15. Isaiah 59:16 “And the Lord saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore His arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.”

 

16. Jeremiah 27:18 “But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.”

 

NEW TESTAMENT:

1.   Romans 8:26-27 “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

 

2.   Romans 8:34 “Christ is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”

 

3.   Hebrews 7:25 “Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
