MISSION MANDATE

 

Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All (pas all, any, every, the whole, all manner of, always, whole, whatsoever) power (exousia ability, privilege, force, capacity, masterly, control, delegated authority, jurisdiction, power, strength) is given unto me (didomi to give, bestow, commit, deliver up, grant, receive, yield) in heaven and earth (ouranos heaven as the abode of God; ge earth, soil, region, the whole of terrene globe, including occupants, ground, land, world). 

Go ye therefore (poreuomai going, as you are going, having gone on your way, to traverse, travel, depart, to go, go forth, take a journey, walk, to go on one’s way, to proceed from one place to another, break camp and moving out, lifting anchor to sail; peira piercing, a test, attempt, experience, trial; peran to peirce through, across, beyond, farther, other side), and teach (matheteuo to become a pupil, to disciple, enroll as learner, be disciple, instruct, teach; mathetes learner, pupil, disciple) all (pas all, any, every, the whole, every, everyone, whole, whosoever) nations (ethnos a race, tribe, pagan, heathen, people; ethnos a race, tribe, heathen, nation, people),

baptizing them (baptizo immersing, fully wet, submerge, dip under, wash) in the name of the Father (pater father), and of the Son (uihos son), and of the Holy Spirit (pneuma air, breath, Holy Spirit): teaching them (didasko to teach) to observe (tereo to guard from loss, keeping the eye upon, fulfill a command, maintain, hold fast, serve, watch) all things (pas all, any, every, the whole, every one, as many as, thoroughly, whatsoever, whole) whatsoever (hosos  all that, as much as, so many as) I have commanded you (entellomai to enjoin, give charge, give command, injoin):

and, lo, I am with (meta amid, accompaniment, association, intimate, together, participation) you always (pas all, any, every, the whole, always, thoroughly; hemera a period, age, always, forever), even unto the end (sunteleia entire completion, consummation, end) of the world;  (sunteleo to complete entirely, execute, end, finish, fulfill; aion age, perpetuity, world, eternal, forever; aei duration, ever, always, ever).  Amen (amen firm, trustworthy, surely, so be it, verily, amen).”

Mark 16:15-20 “And Jesus said unto them, Go ye (poreuomai  to traverse, travel, remove, depart, go forth, make or take a journey, walk; peira  idea of piercing, a test, attempt, experience, assaying, trial) into (eis of place, time or purpose, continual,  to the intent that, of one mind, therefore, throughout, until, the end) all (hapas  union, absolutely all, everyone, all things, whole; pas all, any, every, the whole, all manner of means, always, as many as, thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever) the world (kosmos  orderly arrangement, the world, including inhabitants, world; komizo  to tend, take care of, properly to provide for),

and preach (kerusso to herald, as a public crier, divine truth, preach, proclaim, publish) the gospel (euaggelion a good message, the gospel; euaggelizo to announce good news, evangelize, declare, bring, declare, show, glad, good tidings, preach) to every (pas all, any, every, the whole, as many as, thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever) creature (ktsis original formation, building, creation, creature; ktizo proprietorship of manufacturer, fabricate, found, form originally, create, make; ktaomai to get, acquire, by any means, own, obtain, possess, provide, purchase). 

He that believeth (pisteuo to have faith in, upon or with respect to a person or thing, entrust, especially one’s spiritual well- being to Christ, believe, commit to, trust, put in trust with; pistis persuasion, credence, conviction of truth, truthfulness of God, reliance upon Christ for salvation, constancy in, assurance, belief, believe, faith; peitho to convince, assent, to rely by inward certainty, agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be content, obey, persuade, trust, yield) and is baptized (baptizo fully wet, baptize, wash, submerged; bapto cover wholly with a fluid,  dip, stain with dye) shall be saved (sozo to save, deliver, protect, healed, preserved, be whole); but (de but, and) he that believeth not (apisteo to be unbelieving, disbelieve, disobey, believe not; apistos disbelieving, without faith, believeth not, faithless, unbeliever) shall be damned (katakrino to judge atainst, sentence, condemn, damn; kata against, over against, opposition, distribution or intensity; krino decide, judicially, to try, condemn, punish, avenge, condemn, damn, decree, determine, judge, sentence to). 

And (de and, also, moreover, now) these (tauta these things, afterward, herafter) signs (semeion indication, supernaturally, miracle, sign, wonder; semaino a mark, to indicate, signify) shall follow them (parakoloutheo to follow near, attend as a result; para near, beside, the vicinity akoloutheo a road, to be in the same way with, accompany as a disciple, follow) that believe (pisteuo to have faith, entrust, one’s spiritual well being to Christ, believe, commit to, to trust, put trust with; pistis conviction, reliance upon, assurance, believe, faith; peitho to convince, assent to evidence or authority, to rely by inward certainty, agree, assure, believe, have confidence, obey, trust, yield);

In my (en by,  position, a relation of rest; mou of me, I, me, mine own, my) name (onoma  authority, character, name; ginosko to know absolutely, can speak, be sure, understand; oninemi derive advantage from) shall they cast out (ekballo to eject, bring forth, cast out or forth, drive out, expel, thrust out, put out, send away or out; ballo to throw, cast out, send, throw down, thrust; rhipto sudden motion, deliberate hurl, disperse, cast out or down, throw) demons (daimonion a demonic being; daimon a demon, supernatural spirit of bad nature);

they shall speak (laleo utter words, say, speak, tell, utter; lego lay forth, put forth) with new (kainos new, in freshness; neos neoteros new, fresh) tongues (glossa  the tongue, a language specifically one naturally acquired);

they shall take up (airo take up or away, to raise, keep in suspense, remove, put away; horao to stare at, to discern clearly, attend to, take heed; blepo to look at, behold, beware, perceive, regard, take heed; skopeo to take aim at, spy, regard, consider, take heed, look at, on, mark; optanomai optomai to gaze with wide open eyes, inspection, a watching from a distance) serpents (ophis a snake);

and if (kan even if, is so much as, though, yet; ean in case that, provided that) they drink (pino pio poo to imbibe, drink) any (tis some, any object, certain) deadly thing (thanasimos fatal, poisonous, deadly; thanatos death, deadly), it shall not (ou me not at all, by no means, never, in no case, nor ever); hurt them (blapto hinder, to injure, hurt)

they shall lay  (epitithemi to impose, lay upon, put on; epi over, upon, rest on; tithemi lay, put) hands (cheir hand) on (epi upon, touching) the sick (arrhostos infirm, sick; rhonnumi to strengthen, have health; rhuomai current, rush, rescue, deliver), and they shall recover (echo begin to amend, recover; kalos recover, full well; agathos  good, benefit, well). 

So after the Lord (kurios supreme in authority, controller, God, Lord, Master) had spoken unto them (laleo to talk, utter words, preach), he was received up (analambano to take up, receive up, take in, unto, up; lambano to take, to get hold of, seize or remove, catch, take away, up) into heaven (ouranos elevation, sky, heaven, abode of God), and sat (kathizo to seat down, set, to sit down, settle, dwell, continue; kathezomai to sit down, sit) on the right hand (dexios right side or hand) of God (theos supreme Divinity, deity, Hebraism very God, exceeding, God). 

And they (de but, also, moreover, now; ekeinos that one, selfsame, they, those) went forth (ekei there, thither, yonder; exerchomai to issue, come forth, out, depart out of, get out, proceed forth, spread abroad), and preached (kerusso to herald, crier, preach, divine truth, the gospel, proclaim, publish) everywhere (pantachou universally, in all places, everywhere; all, every, the whole, as many as, thoroughly, whatsoever, whosoever),

the Lord (kurios supreme in authority, controller, God, Lord Master) working with them (sunergeo to be a fellow worker,          co-oprate, help work with, worker, work together; sunergos co-laborer, companion in labor, fellow-helper, laborer, worker, laborer together with, workfellow), and confirming (bebaioo  confirm, stablish; babaios stable, firm, of force, steadfast, sure) the word (logos Christ as the Divine Expression, speech, tidings, preaching, treatise, utterance, word; lego to lay forth, relate, discourse, expression or speech, put forth, say, speak, tell, utter, show) with (dia through, by) signs (semeion an indication, supernaturally, miracle, sign, wonder; semaino a mark, to indicate, signify) following epakoloutheo to accompany, follow after; akoloutheo a road, to be in the same way with, that is to accompany, follow).  Amen (amen firm, trustworthy, surely, so be it, verily, amen).”

Luke 24:45-53Then (tote that is, at the time that, that time, then) opened (dianoigo to open thoroughly, as a first born, to expound; peri through, all over, around, completeness, through) he (Jesus) their understanding (nous intellect, mind, in thought, feeling and will, meaning understanding; ginosko to know absolutely, allow, be aware, have known, perceive, be sure, understand; psuche  rational, life, mind, soul), that they might understand (suniemi to put together, comprehend, consider, understand, be wise; sun union, with, together, companionship, completeness) the scriptures (graphe  document, holy Writ, scripture; grapho write, describe),

and said unto them (epo to speak, say, writing, answer, bring word, speak, tell; ereo to utter, speak, say, tell; rheo pouring forth, utter, speak, say, command; phemi to show, make known one’s thoughts, speak, say, affirm), Thus (houto in this way, to what precedes or follows, after that) it is written (grapho to write, describe in writing, written), and thus (houto same as above) it behooved (dei necessary, as binding, be meet, must needs be, ought, should) Christ (Christos anointed, Messiah, Jesus Christ) to suffer (pascho patho pentho to experience pain, feel, passion, suffer, vex), and to rise (anistemi to stand up, arise, lift up, raise up again, rise again, stand up right) from the dead (ek ex from out, from among; nekros a corpse, dead) the third day (tritos third; hemera day, between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours, several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both):

and that repentance (metanoia computation for guilt, including reformation, reversal of opinion, repentance; metanoeo to think differently or afterwards, reconsider, to feel compunction, repent; noieo to exercise the mind, observe, to comprehend, heed, consider, perceive, think, understand; nous the intellect, mind, thought, feeling, will, understanding; ginosko to know absolutely, be aware, be sure, understand; psuche breath, spirit, rational and immortal soul, heart) and remission (aphesis freedom, pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission; aphiemi to send, to go, to send forth, forgive, forsake, lay aside, let go, put away, yield up, remit) of sins (hamartia sin, offence; hamartano  to miss the mark, and so not share in the prize, to err, to sin, faults, offend, sin, trespass) should be preached (kerusso to herald, public crier, especially divine truth, the gospel, preach, proclaim, publish) in his name (onoma  a name, authority, character)

among all nations (pas all, any, every, the whole, all manner, means, whatsoever, whole, whosoever; ethnos a race, tribe, heathen, nation, people), beginning at Jerusalem (archomai  precedence, to commence, in order of time, rehearse from the beginning; archo to be first, in rank or power; Hierousalem Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine,).  And ye are witnesses (este  ye are, have been, belong; martus a witness, martyr, record) of these things (touton of, concerning, these things, this sort). 

And, behold (idou lo, behold, see; eido to see, to know, be aware, behold, consider, look on, perceive, be sure, understand), I send (apostello to set apart, to send out, properly on a mission, send away, forth, out, set at liberty; apo  off, separation, departure, completion; stello to set fast, withdraw) the promise of (epaggelia announcement, information, pledge, divine assurance of good, message, promise; epaggello to announce upon, engage, assert, profess, make promise; aggelos to bring tidings, messenger) my Father (pater father) upon you (epi upon, rest on, towards, upon):

but tarry ye (kathizo to be seated, sit down, to settle, dwell, continue, tarry) in the city of Jerusalem (polis  town, city, walled), until ye (heos until, time and place, how long, while; hou at which place, where) be endued (enduo sinking into a garment, to invest with clothing, array, clothe with, have put on; en position, set, give self wholly to, while; duno dumi to sink, to go down, set) with power (dunamis force, miraculous power, miracle, ability, abundance, might, power, strength, mighty, wonderful work; dunamai to be able, or possible, be of power) from on high (ek ex origin, from out of, by means of, completion; hupsos elevation, altitude, thesky, dignity, be exalted, height, on high; huper above, over, beyond). 

And he led them (exago to lead forth, lead out) out (exo out, away, forth) as far as  (heos until, unto, hither) to Bethany (Bethania date house, Bethany), and he lifted up (epairo to raise up, lift up) his hands (cheir hands), and blessed them (eulogeo to speak well of, to bless, praise).  And it came to pass (ginomai  to become, come into being, brought to pass, ), while he blessed them (eulogeo same as above), he was parted from them (diisteme to stand apart, to remove, be parted; apo away, separation, departure), and was carried up (anaphero to take up, bring up) into heaven (ouranos elevation, sky, abode of God, air, heaven). 

And they worshiped him (eulogeo to bless, thank, praise; proskuneo to kiss, prostrate oneself in homage, do reverence, adore, worship), and returned (hupostrepho to return, back again, turn back again) to Jerusalem (Hierousalem Jerusalem, capital of Palestine) with great joy (megas big, exceedingly, great, loud, mighty, strong; chara cheerfulness, delight, gladness, exceeding joy, joyful): and were continually (diapantos through all time, constantly, always, continually) in the temple (hieron sacred place, sanctuary of the temple at Jerusalem; hieros sacred, holy), praising (aineo praise, to praise God; ainos praise of God, praise) and blessing (eulogeo to speak well of, to bless, thank, praise) God (theos deity, the supreme Divinity, Hebraism very God, exceeding, God).  Amen. John 15:26-27But when (hotan in as much as, when) the Comforter (parakletos intercessor, consoler, advocate, comforter) is come (erchomai to come, appear, come enter), whom I will send unto you (pempo to dispatch, departure, send) from the Father, (pater father) even the Spirit (pneuma breath, spirit, Holy spirit, Christ’s spirit)  of truth (aletheia truth; alethes true, not concealing, truth), which (hos he ho who) proceedeth from (ekporeuomai to depart, be discharged, proceed, come forth, out, proceed out of) the Father (pater same as above),

he shall testify of me (martureo to be a witness, testify, bear record, be well reported of, give testimony): and ye (humeis you, yourselves) also (kai too, also, likewise, moreover) shall bear witness (martureo same as above), because (hoti because)  ye have been (hostis hetis ho, ti in that they, whereas ye) with me (meta amid, with what is joined, together, participation; emou of me, mine) from (apo from, completion) the beginning (arche commencement, beginning, first).”

John 20:21-23Then said Jesus (Iesous Jesus, Jehoshua) to them again (palin repletion, anew, once more, furthermore, again), Peace  be unto you (eirene  peace, quietness, rest): as (kathos just, inasmuch, even, according) my Father (pater father) hath sent me (apostello set apart, to send out on a mission, send forth, set at liberty), even so send I you (pempo to dispatch, send). 

And when he had said this, he breathed on them (emphusao to puff,

blow on, breathe on), and saith unto them, Receive ye (lambano to take, to get hold of, to seize, accept, obtain, receive; dechomai to receive, accept, take) the Holy Spirit (hagios sacred, pure, blameless, holy, consecrated; pneuma breath, spirit, Christ’s spirit, Holy spirit, life):

Acts 1:1-12The former (protos foremost in time. being seen of them forty days, (optanomai optomai to gaze, with wide open eyes, as at something remarkable, inspection; tessarakonta forty, days, day by day) and speaking (lego to lay forth, relate, systematic, set discourse, extended, speak) of the things (peri through all over, around, with respect to, completeness) pertaining to (hemera ) the kingdom of God: (basileia rule, realm, kingdom, reign; theos deity, supreme Divinity, Hebraism very God)

and being assembled together with them (sunalizo to throng, convene, assemble together), commanded them (paraggello to enjoin, give charge, give command, declare) that they should not depart (me not; chorizo part, to go away, depart, separate) from Jerusalem (Hierosoluma  Jerusalem), but wait for (perimeno to stay around, await, wait for) the promise of the Father (epaggelia an announcement, information, assurance of good, message, promise; pater father), which, saith he, ye have heard of me (akouo to hear, give audience, come to the ears, understand). 

For John (Ioannes John) truly (men an affirmation in fact, indeed, truly, verily) baptized with water (baptizo to make fully wet, immerse, wash; en  in; hudor hudatos water): but ye shall be baptized (baptize same as above) with the Holy Spirit (hagios sacred, pure, blameless, consecrated, holy; pneuma breath, spirit, Christ’s spirit, Holy spirit, life) not many days hence (ou not long; polus polos many; hemera day; tautais tautas hence). 

But ye shall receive power (lambano to get hold of, have offered to, accept, receive; dunamis force, power, miraculous, ability, abundance, might, strength, mighty work), after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you (eperchomai arrive, occur, come upon):

and ye shall be witnesses unto me (esomai will be, will come to pass, what would follow; martus a witness, judicially, martyr, record; moi to me, mine) both (te both, also, connection) in Jerusalem (Hierousalem Jerusalem), and in all Judaea (pas all , every, the whole, everyone, as many as, whosoever), and in Samaria (Samareia Samaria), and unto (heos continuance, even unto) the uttermost part of the earth (eschatos contiguity, farthest, final place, ends of, last, latter end, uttermost; ge soil, region, the whole of the terrene globe, country, earth, world). 

And when he had spoken these things (epo to speak, say, command), while they beheld (blepo to look at, behold, look on, see, sight, take heed), he was taken up (epairo to raise up, lift up, take up); and a cloud received him out of their sight (nephele cloudiness, a cloud; hupolambano to take from below, carry upward, to take up, receive; apo separation, departure; ophtalmos vision, eye, sight). 

And while they looked steadfastly (atenizo to stretch, gaze intently, behold earnestly, fasten eyes, look stedfastly) toward heaven as he went up (eis toward; ouranos elevaton, sky, heaven, abode of God; poreuomai depart, go up), behold (idou lo, behold),  two men (duo two; aner individual male ) stood by (paristemi paristano to stand beside, to be at hand) them in white apparel (leukos white; esthes clothes, dress, apparel, clothing, raiment, robe); which also said, Ye men of Galilee (Galilaios belonging to Galilee, of Galilee), why stand ye (histemi to stand, abide, continue) gazing up into heaven (emblepo to look on, to observe fixedly, gaze up, look upon; ouranos elevation, sky, heaven, abode of God, air)?

This same Jesus (houtos houtoi haute hautai the same man; Iesous Jesus, Jehoshua, the name of our Lord), which is taken up from you into heaven (analambano to take up; ouranos same as above),  shall so come in like manner (houto in this way, in this manner, on this fashion; tropos mode, like, like manner) as ye have seen him go into heaven (erchomai to go; ouranos same as above). 

Then returned they unto Jerusalem (hupostrepho to return back again; Jerusalem same as above) from the mount called Olivet (oros a mountain, hill, mount, as lifting itself above the plain), which is from Jerusalem (same as above) a Sabbath day’s journey (sabbaton the Sabbath; hodos a road, journey).”
