COMPILATION OF PROPHECIES

In the centuries after AD 70, when Jerusalem and the Temple were destroyed by the Romans, Jewish history can be defined by the following:

Destruction: The Temple Jerusalem and much of Israel were in ruins.

Desolation: The Land of Israel lay desolate for nearly 2,000 years.

Dispersion: The majority of Jews were scattered among the nations.

Persecution: The Jews were persecuted wherever they lived.

Curse: The Jews were looked upon as an accursed people.

 

SCRIPTURAL FOUNDATION

Isaiah 27:6 “He shall cause them to come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.”

Isaiah 40:1-2 “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.  Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”

Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 48:6 “Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it?  I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.”

Isaiah 48:20 “Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The Lord hath redeemed his servant Jacob.”

Isaiah 60:10 “And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their

kings shall minister unto thee; for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favor have I had mercy on thee.”

Jeremiah 31:10 “Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.”

Ezekiel 36:24 “For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.”

Ezekiel 36:35 “And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.”

Zechariah 8:1-3 “Again the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.  Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain.”

Zechariah 8:13 “And it shall come pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.”
