WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH

Matthew 17:4-5 (Mark 9:5-7) “Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if Thou wilt, Let us make here three tabernacles; one for Thee, and one for Moses and one for Elias.  While He yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.”

Mark 13:1-2 “And as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples saith unto Him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!  And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildingsThere shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

John 2:19-22 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.  Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up on three days?  But He spake of the temple of His body.”

John 4:20-42Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worshipJesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and Truth: for the father seeketh such to worship Him God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.  The woman saith unto Him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ: when He is come, He will tell us all things.  Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am He.  And upon this came His disciples, and marveled that He talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? Or, Why talkest Thou with her?  The woman then left her water pot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?  Then they went out of the city, and came unto Him.

In the meanwhile His disciples prayed Him, saying, Master, eat.  But He said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.  Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought Him aught to eat?  Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest?  Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.  And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.  And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labor: Other men labored, and ye are entered into their labor.  And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on Him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.  So when the Samaritans were come unto Him, they besought Him that He would tarry with them and He abode there two days.  And many more believe because of His own word: and said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Acts 7:44-51 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.  Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Joshua into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David.  Who found favor before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.  But Solomon built Him an house

Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build Me saith the Lord?  Or what is the place of my restHath not my hand made all these things

Ye stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye.  Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted?  And they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One (Jesus); of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers.”

I Corinthians 3:9 “For we are laborers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.”

I Corinthians 3:10-11, 16-17 “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.  But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereuponFor other foundation can no man lay that is laid, which is Jesus Christ, Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

II Corinthians 5:1 “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, and house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Ephesians 2:19-22 “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; In Whom all the building fitly framed together growth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”

Hebrews 3:6 “But Christ as a Son over His own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”

Hebrews 9:11 “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;”

Hebrews 11:10 “For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”

I Peter 2:5-6Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, and holy

priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect precious: and He that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.”
