Hebrew:            chemer              = a thick syrup, foaming of liquid

                        chamar            = a mixed syrup

                        yayin                     = what is pressed out of grapes

                        mimsak           = anything mixed

                        sobe                    = anything suck up or in, soak

                        asis                     = anything pressed on or tread upon

                        tirosh                 = new wine

                        shecar               = generic term for all fermented drinks except wine,

     strong drink, intoxicating, from grain, vegetables,

     fruit or honey

                        chometz           = a weak sour wine

                        shemarim        = dregs of wine

 

Greek:            gleukos                        = sweet or new wine

                        oinos                  = wine, juice of the grape, the general designation of

    wine

                        oinophlugia     = an overflowing of wine

                        paroinos          = one alongside of wine

                        oxos                 = vinegar
