WHEN GOD BUILDS THE HOUSE

1.      Exodus 20:24-25 “An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shall sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.  And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou life up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.”

2.      I Kings 5:7 “And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.”

3.      I Chronicles 13:7f “They carried the ark on a new cart.”

4.      I Chronicles 15:13 “For because you did not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for we sought him not after the due order.”

5.      II Chronicles 2:5-6 “And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods.  But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him?  Who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

6.      Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord build the house , they labor in vain that build it.”

11.  Matthew 21:44 “And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”

12.  Matthew 24:1-2 “And his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things?  Verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

13.  Matthew 27:50-51 “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.  And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;”(Mark 15:38;Luke 23:45)

14.  Acts 7:47-50 “But Solomon built him an house.  Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me?  said the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?  Hath not my hand made all these things?”(Isaiah 66:1-2)

15.  I Corinthians 3:9-17 “For we are laborers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, yea are God’s building.  According to the grace of god which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.  But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.  Knew ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?  If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

17.  Ephesians 2:19-22 “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;  And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”

18.  Ephesians 4:15-16 “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body in love.”

21.  I Peter 2:3-9 “Ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, and holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded (Isaiah 28:16).  Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but not them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner (Psalm 118:22),  And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence (Isaiah 8:14), even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they wee appointed.  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew for the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:”
