Note: The basic difference in godly anger and the sin of anger is that one is motivated by the Spirit and the other by the flesh.

 

OLD TESTAMENT:

  1. Exodus 4:14-16 “And the anger(aph=anger, snorting) of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother?  I know that he can speak well.  And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people:”
  2. Exodus 32:19 “And it came to pass, as soon as Moses came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot(aph=anger, snorting), and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.”

3.      Mark 3:5 “And when Jesus had looked round about on them with anger (orge=anger), being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand.  And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.”

4.      John 3:36 “He that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath (orge=anger, wrath) of God abideth on him.”

5.      Romans 12:19 “Dearly beloved, avenge not(ekdikeo=to give full justice) yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath(orge=anger, wrath): for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
