PURE RELIGION

Micah 6:8 “He hath shewed (nagad =to front; to stand boldly out; to manifest; to announce) thee, O man, what is good (tob = good; a good thing); and what doth the Lord require (darzsh = to seek; to tread; frequent; to follow) of thee, but to do justly (mishpat =a verdict, sentence or formal decree; pronounce judicially), and to love (aheb = to have affection for) mercy (chesed kindness, favor, good deed), and to walk (halak to walk, to and fro) humbly (tsana = lowly, humbly) with thy God.”

James 1:26-27 “If any man among you seem (dokeo = to seem good) to be religious (threskos = careful of the externals of divine service, religious), and bridleth not (chalinagogeo = to lead with a bit) his tongue (glossa = a tongue, language), but deceiveth (apatao = to beguile, deceive)his own heart ( kardia = the heart), this man's religion (threskeia = outward religious service) is vain (mataios unprofitable, useless, vain).  Pure (katheros = clean, clear, pure)religion (threskeia = signifies religion in its external aspect, religious worship, especially the ceremonial service of religion) and undefiled (amiantos = unpolluted, immaculate) before God and the Father is this, To visit (episkeptomai = to inspect, to look upon, care for, oversight, visit with help) the fatherless (orophanos = orphan) and widows (chera = a widow, one bereaved) in their affliction (thlipsis = pressure), and to keep (tereo = to watch, observe, keep) himself unspotted (aspilos = unspotted) from the world (kosmos = world, arrangement).
