TAKE UP YOUR CROSS DAILY
Note:
Jesus died for our sins once for all and we died with Him and we
must die daily to self and take up our cross and follow Jesus.
1.
Matthew 10:37-39 “He that loveth
father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that
loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he
that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not
worthy of. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that
loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
2.
Matthew 16:24-26 “Then said Jesus
unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever
will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his lie
for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man
give in exchange for his soul?”
3.
Mark 8:34-38 “And when Jesus had
called the people unto him with is disciples also, he said unto
them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his
lie shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life from my sake
and the gospel’s the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a
man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or
what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore
shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful
generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he
cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
4.
Mark 10:21 “Come, take up the
cross, and follow me.”
5.
Luke 9:23 “And Jesus said to them
all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
6.
Luke 14:25-33 “And there went great
multitudes with Jesus: and he turned, and said unto them, If any man
come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and
children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he
cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross,
and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you,
intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the
cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he
hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that
behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and
was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against
another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be
able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with
twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off,
he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So like
wise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he
cannot be my disciple.
7.
Galatians 6:14 “But God forbid that
I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom
the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”
8.
Ephesians 1:20 “And, having made
peace through the blood of his cross, by him to
reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be
things in earth, or things in heaven.”
9.
Colossians 2:13-14 “And you,
being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath
he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it
to his cross:”
10.
Romans 6:6-23
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him,
that the body of sin might be destroyed, that hence forth we should
not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be
dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with
him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more;
death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died
unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise
reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,
but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin
therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the
lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of
unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those
that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you:
for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? Shall
we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God
forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to
obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto
death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked that
ye were the servants of sin, but he have obeyed from the heart that
form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from
sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the
manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have
yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto
iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness
unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free
from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof
ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now
being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your
fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of
sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. |
