RESTITUTION, RESTORATION

  1. Refreshing – Greek word anapsuxis meaning a refreshing; obtaining relief; to make cool (ana/back to psucho/cool)
  2. Regeneration – Greek word palingenesia stresses the inception of a new state of things in contrast with the old; renewed, revived
  3. Restitution/ Restoration– Greek words apokatastaseo and apokatastasis meaning restitution; to restore; restoration; compensation; to set in order again; to bring back to former condition or state of being; recreate, remake or renew all over again; combination of apo/back, again and kathistemi/to set in order meaning to set in order; restitution; a putting down again; a repair of a public way,the restoration of estates to rightful owners, a balancing of accounts
  4. Restore – Greek word apodidomi meaning to give back; restitution; making good by substituting another; reclamation

Matthew 17:10-13; Mark 9:11-13 "And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore (apodidomi) all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. The the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist."

Matthew 19:28 "And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration (palingenesia) when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

Acts 2:16-21 "But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth be neath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Acts 3:19-21 "Repent ye therefore, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing (anapsuxis) shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution (apokaatastasis) of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets wince the world began."
