CHURCH IN WINNSBORO

The Church in Winnsboro is made up of all believers who reside in the Winnsboro in whom the Spirit of Christ dwells. The Body of Christ in Winnsboro gathers in different locations and at different times during the week.

Just as the individual believers express the gifts of the Spirit uniquely, so the various gatherings of believers uniquely express Christ’s life and yet as individual “living stones” are fitted together by the Holy Spirit as One in Him.

In order to encourage, maintain and guard the spiritual unity of the whole Body of Christ in Winnsboro, “house to house” gatherings will be at different times other than when the larger part of the Body of Christ meets, which is primarily on Sunday mornings and evenings of the First Day of the week.

Household families will come together “to break bread from house to house” as a part of the whole Body of Christ under the Headship of Jesus, to glorify Him, to edify one another and to witness unto Him in our “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost part of the earth.”

As the early New Testament church often met daily, we will also encourage the frequent gathering of individual believers in daily relational ways throughout the week. We will also encourage those who “meet from house to house” to touch life with the whole Body of Christ on the Lord’s Day as well as participate in the “Solomon Porch” gatherings of the whole church of the city that may come together in one place as the Holy Spirit directs.

Note: According to the Scripture, Sunday, the First Day of the week, begins at sundown on Saturday and ends at sundown on Sunday.

Note: Each household gathering determines which day/night they should gather in Jesus’ Name.

Examples of possible gathering days/nights: 1) Saturday: Gathering time at 5:00 PM with “covered dish” shared meal, “breaking bread” etc. 2) Sunday: Gathering time: 1:00 PM with “covered dish” shared meal, “breaking bread”, etc.

The house gatherings will seek to pattern the life and example of the early New Testament church as described in such passages as I Corinthians 14:26; Ephesians 5:18-19 and Colossians 3:16-17.
