CHURCHES RELATIONSHIP TO CHURCHES


 

  1. Churches greeted one another in letters:

    1. Romans 16:16 “Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

    2. I Corinthians 16:19 “The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.”

  1. Churches shared money to help other churches:

    1. Acts 11:29-30 “Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judea.”

    2. II Corinthians 8:19 “And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this gift, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord.”

  1. Leaders exchanged visits:

    1. Acts 15:2-4 “The church in Antioch determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.”

    2. Acts 15:22 “Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch.”

  1. Leaders encouraged churches:

    1. Acts 15:23 “And they wrote letters by them.”

    2. Acts 15:36 “Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.”

  1. Scattered believers went abroad:

    1. Acts 8:1 “And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.”

 

Note: There are no examples in the New Testament of churches of one village/town/city coming together geographically with any other churches of any village/town/city.
