Poor: Grk. ptochos meaning trembling, laborer, impoverished, humble, oppressed, needy, weak, one that lacks, afflicted, to be or become low

1. Matthew 11:1-6 “The poor have the gospel preached to them.”

2. Matthew 11:25-26 “I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; ye, Father, for such was thy gracious will”

3. Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

4. Matthew 19:21 “If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

5. ”Luke 4:18-21 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor”(Isa.61)

6. Luke 12:33 “Sell that ye have, and give alms;”

Luke 14:12-14 “When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee.
