PROPHETIC SCRIPTURAL REFERENCES

 

1.   Prophet’s reward: “He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward;” Matthew 10:41

2.   Prophet without honor: “And they were offended in him.  But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.  And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Matthew 13:57

3.   Prophesy in faith: “Having then gifts differing, according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the  proportion of faith;” Romans 12:6

4.   Desire to prophesy: “Follow after love, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.  Wherefore, brethren, desire to prophesy.”  I Corinthians 14:39

5.   Despise not prophesying: “Despise not prophesyings.” I Thessalonians 5:20
