SEEING BY FAITH

 

INTRODUCTION

 

John 5:19 “The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do: For what things so ever He doesth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”

 

Note: At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus “saw” Lazarus raised from the dead…At the Pool of Salome, Jesus “saw” one man healed…

 

MAIN BODY

 

1.     Romans 1:17; Mark 11:22 “The just shall live by faith…Have faith in God.”

                        NOAH

The people saw a dry land but Noah saw a flood with the Ark of safety! (Genesis 6:1-22)

 

2.  Hebrews 11:lFaith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen.”   

        ABRAHAM

The servants saw a sacrificial death but Abraham saw life  and resurrection! (Genesis 22:1-14; Hebrews 11:17-19)

 

3.  Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please God”

          MOSES

          The people saw the sea and Pharaoh’s army but Moses

          Saw the greatness and power of God! (Exodus 14:1-31)

 

4.  Romans 14:23 “For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

                   JOSHUA & CALEB

The people of Israel saw the enemy as giants and themselves as grasshoppers, but Joshua and Caleb saw that God was well able to take the land! (Numbers 13:30-33)

 

5.  II Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

                 DAVID

Israel saw an unbeatable giant but David saw the giant dead and beheaded. (I Samuel 17:1-58)

 

6.  Romans 10:17Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”

           ISAIAH

           The people saw King Uzziah’s untimely death but Isaiah

            saw the Lord high and lifted up! (Isaiah 6:1-13)

 

7.  Luke 17:5; Mark 9:24 “Lord, increase our faith… Help thou my unbelief!

                  ELISHA

  The prophet’s servant saw the enemy encamped about but

  Elisha saw angels and chariots of fire! (II Kings 6:12-17)

       

CONCLUSION
