Old Testament:

 

1.     Job 4:14 “Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.”(pachad)

2.     Psalm 2:11 “Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.”(readah)

3.     Psalm 99:1 “The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble:(samar) he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.”

4.     Psalm 119:120 “My flesh trembleth for fear of thee;(samar) and I am afraid of thy judgments.”

5.     Isaiah 66:2, 5 “For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.(chared)  Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word;(chared)  Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.”

6.     Jeremiah 5:22 “Fear ye not me? Saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence,(chul) which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, ye can they not pass over it?

7.     Jeremiah 23:9 “Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake;(rachaph) I am like a drunken hath overcome, because of the Lord, and because of the words of his holiness.”

8.     Jeremiah 33:9 “And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honor before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness(ragaz) and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.”

9.     Ezekiel 38:20 “So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence,(raash) and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.”

10.                        Daniel 6:26 “I make a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear(sua) before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast forever, and his kingdom that which shall be destroyed, and him dominion shall be even unto the end.”

11.                         Daniel 10:11 “And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, and understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent.  And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.”(raad)

12.                         Joel 2:1 “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:(regaz) for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is night at hand;”

 

New Testament:

1.     Matthew 28:4 “And for fear of him(angel)the keepers did shake,(seio) and became as dead men.”

2.     Mark 16:8 “And they(women)went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled(tromos)and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.”

3.     Luke 8:47 “And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling,(tremo) and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.”

4.     Acts 7:32 “I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.  Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.”(Exodus 3:5-6)

5.     Acts 9:6 “And he(Saul)trembling and astonished(tremo) said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?  And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.”

6.     Philippians 2:12 “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”(tromos)
