BALANCED GOSPEL

OF

EVANGELISM AND SOCIAL CONCERNS

Jesus both fed and taught people! (Matthew 5:1-7:29; 14:14-21; 15:32-39)

Jesus both healed and preached the gospel of the Kingdom! (Matthew 4:23-24)

Jesus both cast out demons and restored lives! (Matthew 8:16-17; 10:7-8; Luke 8:2, 26-39)

Jesus both taught to clothe the poor and minister to their spiritual needs! (Matthew 25:34-40)

Jesus both taught to give a cup of water and to share the Water of Life! (Matthew 10:42; John 4:5-42)

Jesus both gave to the poor and was Himself their resource and sufficiency! (Luke 4:18; 18:22; )

Jesus both taught to visit the fatherless and widows and minster to their needs! (Mark 12:38-44; James 1:27)

Jesus taught to feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, take in the stranger, clothe the naked, visit the sick, go to the prison, for in as much as we do this unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me! (Matthew 15:34-40)

There is no conflict between evangelism and meeting social needs.  The scripture is perfectly balanced in all teachings including the subject of evangelism and social issues.  It is not “one or the other” but “both and”!
