JESUS’ PROVISION FOR BELIEVERS

 

Isaiah 53:4-5 “Surely he hath borne (nasa nasah = to lift, bear up, carry) our griefs (choliy = malady, anxiety, calamity, disease, grief, sickness), and carried (sabal = to carry, be burdensome, bear, strong to labor) our sorrows (makob makob makobah = anguish, affliction, grief, pain, sorrow): yet we did esteem (chashab = to think, regard, value, compute, count, consider, impute) him stricken (naga = to touch, lay the hand upon, to strike, punish, destroy) smitten (nakah = to strike, beat, cast forth, punish, stripes) of God (), and afflicted (anah = looking down, browbeating, afflict, hurt).  But he was wounded (chalal = to bore, to wound, to profane, to defile, to break) for our transgressions (pesha = revolt, rebellion, sin, transgression, trespass), he was bruised (daka = to crumble, bruise, beat to pieces, break crush, destroy, smite, oppress) for our iniquities (avon avon = perversity, evil, fault, iniquity, sin): the chastisement (musar = reproof, warning, restrain, chastening, correction, discipline, rebuke) of our peace was upon him (shalom shalom = well, happy, friendly, welfare, peace, rest, safe); and with his stripes (chabburah chabburah chaburah = bound with stripes, black and blue mark itself, blueness, bruise, hurt, stripe, wound) we are healed (rapha  raphah = to mend, stitch, cure, heal, repair, make whole, thoroughly).”

Isaiah 61:1-3 “ The Spirit (ruach = breath, spirit, wind) of the Lord (adonay = proper name of God only, sovereign, controller, master, owner) God (elohiym = supreme God) is upon me; because the Lord (yehovah = self-Existent, Eternal, Jehovah, Lord, Jewish national name of God) hath anointed me (mashach = to rub with oil, anoint, consecrate) to preach good tidings (basar  = to be fresh, full, announce, glad news, messenger, preach, publish) unto the meek (anav anayv = humble, lowly, meek, gentle of mind); he hath sent me (shalach = appoint, reach forth, sent, sow, spend stretch forth or out) to bind up (chabash = to wrap, gird about, wrap about, bind, heal) the broken (shabar  = to burst, break in pieces, hurt, tear, crush) hearted (leb = heart, will, centre of anything, care for), to proclaim (qara = accosting a person, to call out to, to call forth, cry unto, proclaim, say) liberty (deror = to remove rapidly, freedom, liberty, spontaneity of outflow and so clear, pure) to the captives (shabah = to transport into captivity, carry away, lead away), and the opening of the prison (peqach-qoach = opening of a dungeon, jail delivery, salvation from sin, opening of the prison) to them that are bound (asar = yoked or hitched, fasten, bind fast, harnessed, put in bonds, tie).  To proclaim (qara = accosting a person met, to call out, bid, cry, invite, proclaim, pronounce) the acceptable (ratson ratson = delight, desire, favor, good pleasure, will) year (shaneh shanah = a year, as a revolution of time, whole age, old) of the Lord (yehovah = self-Existent or Eternal, Jehovah, Jewish national name of God, Lord), and the day (yom = day, from sunrise to sunset, or from one sunset to the next, age, process of time, whole) of vengeance (naqam = revenge, avenged, vengeance) of our God; to comfort (nacham = pity, console, comfort, ) all that mourn (abel = lament, mourn); to appoint unto them (sum siym = to put, cast in, charge, commit) that mourn (abel = lament, mourn) in Zion (tsiyon = mountain of Jerusalem, Zion), to give (nathan = to give, put, apply, appoint, cause, lift up) unto them beauty (peer = an embellishment, fancy head dress, beauty, goodly, ornament, atire) for ashes (epher  = to bestrew, ashes), the oil (shemen = grease, liquid, olive, richness, anointing, ointment) of joy (sason sason = welcome, gladness, joy, mirth, rejoicing) for mourning (abel = lamentation, mourning), the garment (maateh = a vestment,  garment) of praise (tehillah = laudation, hymn, praise) for the spirit (ruach = breath, exhalation, life, spirit, wind) of heaviness (keheh = feeble, obscure, darkish, wax dimi, heaviness, smoking); that they might be called (qara = accosting a person met, to call out to, address by name, bidden, invite, proclaimed, pronounce, publish) trees (ayil = strength, strong, an oak or other strong tree) of righteousness (tsedeq = the right, legal right, right, righteous), the planting (matta = something planted, a garden, vineyard) of the Lord (yehovah = self-Existent or Eternal, Jehovah, Jewish national name of God, Lord), that he might be glorified (paar = to gleam, embellish, boast, explain, beautify, glory, glorify).”

Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit (pneuma = current of air, breath, breeze, spirit, Christ’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit) of the Lord (kurios  = supreme in authority, controller, God, Lord, Master) is upon me (epi = distribution, over, upon, rest on), because he hath anointed (contact, smear or rub with oil, consecrate to service, anoint) me to preach the gospel (euggelizo = to announce good news, evangelize, especially the gospel, declare, glad tidings, preach) to the poor (ptochos  = to crouch, cringing as a beggar, pauper, poor); he hath sent me (apostello  = set apart, to send out, on a mission, send away, set at liberty) to heal (iaomai = to cure, heal, make whole) the broken (suntribo = to crush completely, shatter, break, broken to shivers, bruise) hearted (kardia = heart, the thoughts or feelings, mind), to preach (kerusso = to herald, public crier, divine truth, the gospel, preach, proclaim, publish) deliverance (aphesis = freedom, pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission) to the captives (aichmalotos  = a spear, prisoner of war, captive), and recovering of sight (anablepsis = restoration of sight, recovering of sight) to the blind (tuphios = opaque, smoky, blind), to set (apostello = set apart, to send out on a mission, send forth, set at liberty) at liberty  (aphesis = freedom, pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission) them that are bruised (thrauo = crush, bruise), to preach (kerusso = to herald, public crier, especially divine truth, the gospel, preach, proclaim, publish) the acceptable (dektos = approved, accepted) year (eniautos = a year, year) of the Lord (kurios = supreme in authority, controller, God, Lord, Master).”
