LORD THY GOD GIVETH THEE

Just as in the Old Testament the Lord gave, delivered and granted the land to Israel, so the Lord in the New Testament offers His free gift of salvation to those who believe and receive Him both as Savior and as Lord.

AN INHERITANCE

In the Old Testament, the Lord gave Israel the land as an everlasting inheritance and possession.  In the New Testament the Lord gives salvation to those who believe on Him, Life everlasting.

POSSESSEST IT

When Israel entered the land of their inheritance, they had to possess and occupy it by conquest.  In the New Testament, once believers receive Jesus as Lord, they too begin the continued work of sanctification by the inward working of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

DWELLEST THERE IN

Israel not only possessed the land, but they dwelt there as their home of inheritance, possession.  In the New Testament, believers dwell in, are at home, abide and rest in Him.
