SANCTIFICATION

Sanctify, Sanctifiedhagiazo to set apart, to separate the setting a part of a believer for God; the separation of the believer from the world in his behavior by the Father through the Word; a state in which God, in grace, calls sinful men, and in which they begin their walk as Christians; to make holy, that is purify or consecrate; from root hagios sacred, pure, blameless, holy, saint; from root hagnos clean, innocent, perfect, chaste, clean, pure

Sanctificationhagiasmos separation, a setting apart, separation to God, the course of life befitting those so separated; Sanctification is that relationship with God into which men enter by faith in Christ, and to which their sole title is the death of Christ; separation of the believer from evil things and ways; sanctification is an individual possession, built up as a result of obedience to the Word of God, following the example of Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit; The Holy Spirit is the Agent in sanctification; purification, that is the state of purity, holiness, sanctification; from root hagiazo to make holy, that is purify or consecrate, be holy, sanctify; from root hagios sacred, pure, blameless, consecrated, holy, saint; from root hagnos clean, innocent, modest, perfect, chaste, pure.

Ephesians 5:26 “That he might sanctify (hagiazo) and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”

Hebrews 9:13 “For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth (hagiazo) to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

Hebrews 10:10 “By the which will we are sanctified (hagiazo) through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” “

Hebrews 10:14 “For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.”

Hebrews 10:29 “Of how much sore punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden underfoot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified (haziazo), an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”
