CONCLUSION

By the sheer number differential of scriptural references to the words for “Savior” (24 references) and “Lord (480 references), one can readily see the emphasis of the New Testament writers was upon the “Lordship” of Christ and not just on the “Salvation” provided by Christ. This emphasis by the New Testament authors in no way meant to take away from His sacrificial atonement because that too was essential and important to the New Testament writers.

Today, most of the emphasis is just the opposite, with the importance being upon “Salvation” and little if any on “Lordship” to the detriment of the church in our time.  For Jesus is Lord of all or not Lord at all!
