Spirit - pneuma wind, breath (God consciousness)              

 

Soul - psuche animal soul; natural life of the body; invisible part of man; seat of mind, will and emotions (Self-consciousness)

 

Body - soma meaning body as a whole; physical

nature (Environmental consciousness)

 

We are a spirit being (in whom the Spirit dwells)

We have a soul (mind, will, emotion)

We reside in a body (tent, tabernacle)

I Thessalonians 5:23 “The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit, soul, body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

 

Hebrews 4:12  “Dividing asunder of soul and spirit.”
