Isaiah 1:9 “Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant (sariyd), we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.”

Isaiah 11:11-12, 16 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant (shear) of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and form Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.  And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.  And there shall be an highway for the remnant (shear) of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.”

I Peter 3:20 “Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few (oligos), that is, eight souls were saved by water.”
