ISAIAH 62:1-12

V1 “For Sion’s (Tsiyon one of the names by which Mount Hermon was anciently called; South west hill of Jerusalem, the older and higher part of the city; Zi’on a name applied to Jerusalem or portions thereof since the time of David and it is often called the City of David) sake (ma’an, heed, prosper, on account of, in order that, sake) will I not hold My peace (chashah to be silent, to hush, keep quiet, be still), and for Jerusalem’s sake (Yerushalaim Yerushalahim  Jerusalem, eternal city, capitol city; ma’an sake, heed, prosper, on account of, in order that) I will not rest (shaqat to have rest, to be quiet, be still), until (‘ad  up to, during, as long as, until) the righteousness (tsedeq righteous, rightness, right, justice, equity) thereof go forth (yatsa to go, to go forth, or out, , proceed) as brightness (nogahh shining, bright, light, clear), and the salvation (yeshuah deliverance, saved, safety, ease, victory) thereof as a lamp (lappiyd to shine, a torch, flame, burning) that burneth (ba’ar to consume, be consumed by fire, to kindle, to set on fire).”

V2 “And the Gentiles (goy goy a foreign nation, heathen, people) shall see (ra’ah gaze, discover, perceive, view) thy righteousness (tsedeq the right just, justice, righteous), and all (kol kol the whole, every, everyone) kings (melek king, royal) thy glory (kabod kabod splendor, honor): and thou shalt be called (qara to call out, call forth) by a new name (chadash fresh, new thing, new; shem honor, authority, character, renown), which the mouth (asher every gender and number, whosoever; peh moth, word, sound, speech) of the Lord (Yehovah self Existent, Eternal, Jehovah, Lord) shall name (naqab to specify, designate, appoint, name).”

V3 “Thou shall also be (hayah be, become, come to pass, accomplish) a crown (‘ataah crown) of glory (tiph’arah tiph’ereth an ornament, comely, glory, honor, majesty) in the hand (yad hand, power, service, strength) of the Lord (Je’hovah self Existent, Eternal, Jehovah, God, Lord), and a royal (mekukah ruled, realm, kingdom, royal) diadem (tsaniyph tsanoph tsaniyphah head dress, cloth wrapped around, hood, diadem) in the hand (kaph hollow of the hand or palm, power) of thy God (Tsaniyphah ‘Eleohiym Supreme God, Great, Mighty).”

 V4 “Thou shall no more (lo lo lo not, no never; ‘od ‘od continuance, further, henceforth, any longer) be termed Forsaken (‘amar  to say, called, consider; azab to loosen, relinquish, permit, forsake, destitute); neither shall (lo’ lo’ not, neither, ) thy land (‘erets earth, land, country, nation) any more be termed (‘amar to say, considered, declared; ‘od ‘od continuance, repeatedly, again) Desolate (shemmamah shimamah devastation, laid waste): but thou shalt be (kiy certainly, surely) called Hephzibah (qaraf to be called; Chephtsiy bahh my delight is in her, a name for Jerusalem), and thy land (‘erets land, earth, country, nation) Beulah (Bula, married, Jerusalem, Holy City, to be master, to marry, have dominion over, be husband married to a wife): for the Lord (Jehovah, self-Existent, Eternal, Lord ) delighteth in thee (chapets incline to, desire, favor, have pleasure, well pleased), and thy land (‘erets land, earth, country, nation) shall be married (Baal to be master, to marry, be a husband to a wife).”

V5 “For as (kiy assured, certain, certainly, for as much) a young man (barchur barchur a youth, young man, chosen) marrieth (ba’al to be married, have dominion over, be a husband, marry a wife) a virgin (bethulah virgin, bride, maid), so shall thy sons (ben as a son, builder of the family name) marry thee (ba’al to be married, have dominion over, be as husband, marry a wife) and as the bridegroom (chathan bridegroom, husband) rejoiceth over (masos delight, joy, mirth, rejoice) the bride (kallah bride), so shall thy God (Elothym the Supreme God, Great, Mighty, God) rejoice over thee (sus siys cheerful, be glad, rejoice, joy, make mirth).”

V6 “I have set watchmen (paqad over see, oversight; shamar hedge about, guard, guard, protect, watch) upon thy walls (chomah wall of protection), O Jerusalem (Yebushalaim Jerusalem, capital city), which shall never (lo’ lo’ lo’ no, not) hold their peace (chashah hush, keep quiet, keep silent, still) day nor night (yom warm hours, day; layil, leyl, layelah night): ye that make mention (zakar to mark, to remember, make mention, recount, think on) of the Lord (Jehovah self-Existent, Eternal, Lord), keep not silence (‘al continuance, constant, regular always, continual, perpetual; demiy domiy silence, quiet, rest).”

V7 “And give him (nathan to give, bestow, bring forth, grant) no rest (‘al no, not; demiy domiy quiet, silence, rest), till he establish (‘ad as long, as much time; kun to erect, to set up, stablish), and till he make (‘ad as long, as much time; sum to put, to appoint, bring, ordain) Jerusalem (Yerushalaim Yerushalayim Jerusalem, capital city) a praise in the earth (tehillah laudation, hymn, praise).”

V8 “The Lord (Jehovah, Self-Existent, Eternal, God, Lord) hath sworn (shaba swear, take an oath) by his right hand (yamiyn right hand), and by the arm (zeroa zeroa zeroa the arm as stretched out, power, might, strength) of his strength (‘oz ‘oz force, might, power strong).  Surely I will no more (‘im not; ‘od ‘od no more, again, repeatedly, more, henceforth) give thy corn (nathan  to give, distribute) to be meat  (dagan increase, grain, corn, wheat) for thine enemies (‘oyeb ‘oyeb hated ones, adversary, enemy, foe) and the sons of the stranger (ben one born, a son; allen foreigner, alien, heathen, stranger) shall not drink (im not, no more; shatha to imbibe, drink) thy wine (tiyrosh tiyrosh fresh grape juice as just squeezed out, new, sweet wine), for the which (‘asher which) thou hast labored (yaga’ toil, weary, labor, tire, faint):”

V9 “But they that have gathered it (‘asaph to gather, put up) shall eat it (‘alcal to eat, consume, dine), and praise the Lord (halal praise, celebrate; Yehovah Jehovah, Self-Existent, Eternal, Lord, God ); and they that have brought it together (qabats collect, gathered) shall drink it (shathah imbibe, drink) in the courts (chatser yard enclosed) of my holiness (qodesh sacred, consecrated, dedicated, hallowed, holiness, holy).”

V10 “Go through (abar cross over, through), go through (abar cross over, through) the gates (sha’ar gate, opening, door ); prepare ye the way  (panah turn, face, look, prepare; derek road, journey, path) of the people (‘am a people, tribe); cast up (salal to mound up, turnpike), cast up (salal to mound up, turnpike) the highway (mesillah thoroughfare, highway, causeway); gather out (saqal gather out) the stones (‘egen stone); lift up (rum raise up, lift up) a standard (nes flag, sign, standard) for the people (im a people, tribe, nation).”

V11 “Behold (hinneh lo, behold, see), the Lord (Yehovah Self-Existent, Eternal, God, Jehovah) hath proclaimed (shama publish, declared, proclaimed) unto the end (qatseh out most part, extremity) of the world (‘er earth, world), Say ye to (amar declare, publish, tell) the daughter of Zion (bath daughter), Behold (hinneh lo, behold, see), thy salvation cometh (yesha’ liberty, deliverance, salvation, safety); behold his reward is with him (hinneh lo, behold, see; sakar reward, compensation, benefit, hire, wages, worth), and his work (peullah labor, wages, reward) before him (paniym face, countenance, favor, presence).”

V12 “And they shall call them (qara’ call out to, address by name, bid, to call), The holy people (qodesh sacred, consecrated, dedicated, approved, holiness, saint), The redeemed of the Lord (ga’al redeemed, bought, delivered, purchased; Yeovah Jehovah, Self-Existent, Eternal, Lord God): and thou shalt be called (qara’ call out to, address by name, bid to call) Sought out (darash to frequent, pursue, search, worship), a city not forsaken (‘ya ‘ar ‘ayar city; lo’ lo’ lo’ not, never; ‘azab left, forsaken).”
